June Recap

June was my first month training for the Mini Marathon (and my first month back at running for awhile). Even though the last half of the month was marred by pain in my shins and lots of unenjoyable runs, I still followed the training plan pretty well. I'm still really in love with running and motivated to keep training and finish this half.

Total mileage for the month- 76 miles (AMAZING!)
Longest run- 7.33 miles on 6/19 (but only due to accident because I got lost)
Fastest run- 10:27 average pace on 6/10 (before the shin splints started)

Injury Report:
The shin splints seem to be significantly better. My right leg has been good for a few days now. Yesterday the left leg was killing me, but it seems to be good today so far. I've been icing and taking Aleve during my 3 day rest period and will be back to running tomorrow (5 miles hopefully).
